Jump Into Action – Own a Share in Mr McLoughlan
We’re excited to offer shares in Mr McLoughlan, a tough, good-moving bumper horse we secured via private deal for £9,000 on 22nd May. He’s shown solid promise in his first three starts and now heads to the next stage of his career – hurdling – where we think he can take a big step forward.
Trained by Jack Jones in Newmarket, Mr McLoughlan is a versatile type with the potential to mix it over both codes and give his owners plenty of fun in the coming months.
🔹 About Mr McLoughlan

Trainer: Jack Jones (Newmarket)
Purchased for: £9,000 (private deal, May 2025)
Current Runs: 3 runs in bumpers, now ready to go hurdling
Expected first run: Aug 25
Expected Trip: 2 miles
🧭 Where He's Come From
Mr McLoughlan has run in three bumpers so far in 2025, showing promise and progression:
Debut (Newcastle) – Green but stayed on gamely to finish 3rd.
Second run (Kelso) – Beaten in a strong race, but came just two weeks after his debut – easily forgiven.
Most recent run – Made the running, still green in front, but only beaten 3 lengths by 8/15f Swingingonthesteel, a horse bought by Highflyer for £32,000 and already a dual bumper winner. That horse’s only bumper defeat came to a horse placed in a Cheltenham Listed event, so the form is strong.
Despite inexperience and greenness, Mr McLoughlan has consistently shown ability and a great attitude – signs we can expect more to come when obstacles are added.
🔹 The Plan
Hurdle debut planned for August – target a summer jumping race to start the next chapter
Based on how he shapes, we’ll map out a campaign into autumn
Aim to target a higher-profile meeting early in the new season
Option to return to the flat depending on how he works against the yard’s flat horses
Full engagement in the schooling process with regular video updates
We’ll also organise stable visits so owners can watch him schooling, jump work, and gallops – making you part of the learning process from the ground up.
